THE SITE IS STILL A WORK IN PROGRESS

As with any new website, there are naturally going to be some growing pains. We have done our best to keep those to a minimum, but we know inevitably we will have to fix a few broken links and explain some temporary workarounds for features we are still working on. Here is a list of Questions and Answers to help you navigate the site and transition from old account information:

FAQ to common site issues

Q: I'm a long time member. What happened to my info from the previous site?

A: We're currently working to port over all of the original information from the previous site. This is the most complex part of the website, so please be patient as we work through this process to populate all of the previous data. Your old login info will not work on the new site.

Q: Do I have to wait for my old membership info to be transferred from the previous site?

A: Nope! You can create a new login by signing up through the link in the upper right hand corner where it says "Log In." You do not have to pay a subscription to sign up. Just let us know you created a new login and that you should have access to the member area due to your previous membership. We'll take care of connecting your member status from our end.

Q: Do I have to sign up with the email I used on the previous site?

A: It's not required, but it would help us greatly with transferring and matching information from the previous site.

Q: Hey, I already paid for the $200 subscription!

A: If you are already a lifetime member, you certainly don't have to pay again! Either wait for your info to get transferred from the old site, or just jump in and create a new login, contact us to let us know, and we'll activate the member area for you on our end.

Q: I signed up, but I still can't access the member areas or contact members.

A: Signing up or "subscribing" to the website gives you access to maintain your profile, but member areas are restricted to customers that have a paid lifetime membership or monthly subscription. Upgrade your status to gain member access. Already have the lifetime Gunner membership, but it's not showing up in your profile? Contact us directly and we'll get you sorted.

Q: I'm new here. Can I become a member?

A: Absolutely! Creating a login is the first step to connecting with the community. Just know we monitor closely who is joining, so you need to fill out a detailed profile about who you are, using your real name, and list what you do in the industry, otherwise the profile will be removed. From there, if you want to sign up for a class and become a subscription holder for the Basic Membership (SOA Gunner), we encourage you to do so to start your journey as a Steadicam Op. The Basic Membership is a one time payment for a lifetime membership and gives you access to the member area where you can connect with the community and access resources. Workshops are the best way to get started to help navigate the physical, mental, and business aspects of being an operator.

Q: I was signed up for a workshop on the previous site. What do I need to do?

A: Fortunately, we were able to manually manage the workshop lists offline during the transition. The email address you used to sign up for the workshop was transferred over to the new site and you were added to the workshop you originally signed up for. So, there's nothing you need to do for the workshop; your seat is still reserved. When you create your new login (again, using the same email address from the previous site) you should see your workshop populate under your profile under the "My Bookings" tab. If you have any issues for any reason, don't hesitate to contact us.
