Ellen and I are selling the farm after forty-three fantastic years.  

 

On May 24th, a dumpster will be backed up against my barn-slash-lab.  

 

Within you will find a host of relics - of quixotic struggles, hapless failures and occasional inspirations.  Bizarre objects from the ‘Bin of Whims’ and ‘Wall of Shame’ jostle against fragments of True Steadiness… and of course I would rather see all this stuff in your hands - inscribed if desired and peeking forever from your shelves - than tossed out my 2nd story window into that dumpster….

 

The SOA will be our host and the beneficiary of your cash donations—in whatever amounts you may spare—in return for these fundamentally worthless objects!

 

There are still a mess of small tools from the 96 Olympics and old cables and vest parts and arm links and mysterious mechanisms from five, so-far-unsuccessful attempts at ‘The Walking Machine’ and posters and photos and 35mm trims from the ‘Thirty Impossible Shots’ demo, and boxes of strange awards from my several odd careers and more!

 

Some of those items are bespoke…. My brother, for instance, gets the bandsaw and belt sander; Tiffen gets the prototypes of the G-arms; and the Archer and Zephyr are donations to the SOA—but much else can be yours!

 

Come drink beer and wine and eat pizza-like food, share stories, and hang out with new and old friends!  I hope to see pals from Steadicam, Skycam, Flycam, Zeen and even Molecam—and any and all help cleaning out the joint and chucking unwanted stuff will be hugely appreciated.
