The Steadicam Operators Association (SOA) was formed by Garrett Brown,the inventor of the Steadicam, and Nicola Pecorini in 1988 to connect skilled Steadicam Operators with motion picture directors and producers.

  Today, the Steadicam Operators Association represents Steadicam Operators around the world, providing referrals across the entire film and video industry. Additional services include oganizing and conducting Steadicam Workshops.
